PVDF filament
TECAFIL PVDF natural is an unfilled PVDF filament that closes the gap between engineering and high temperature plastics. Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) material is characterised by high density and high strength as well as high chemical resistance. Another essential characteristic of our PVDF 3D printing filament is low moisture absorption and good resistance to UV radiation. These characteristics make PVDF filaments suitable for outdoor applications but also for indoor components like in sanitary.
Based on its low coefficient of sliding friction, PVDF can also be used in mechanical engineering as sealing, sliding strips, sliding elements or even as curve guide. Additionally, industrial applications can also profit from its very good welding properties.
In addition to the mechanical industry PVDF is often used in electronics, due to its good electric insulation specifics. The compatibility for chemical environments and elevated temperatures makes it a preferred material in the biopharma sector and chemical processing industry.
There are many advantages of PVDF 3D printing which enable lots of benefits for your applications. Parts printed with PVDF filament are permanently temperature resistant up to 150°C. Ensinger’s PVDF 3D printing filament offers high temperature plastic properties and allows to print the material with the same adjustments of an engineering filament. Thanks to the low water absorption PVDF 3D printing can be performed on desktop printers without an internal drying chamber.
