PPSU filament
PPSU filament is based on the polymer polyphenylene sulfone. PPSU plastic is an amorphous material and has always been known as a high performance plastic. It is extensively used in industries such as automotive and aviation. Due to its high temperature resistance up to 220° C (glass transition temperature), PPSU filament is considered a heat resistant filament. In addition it has a low moisture absorption, high dimensional stability and excellent hydrolysis resistance, making 3D printed PPSU applications also suitable for repeated steam sterilisation. Compared to PSU and PES filament, which also belong to the polysulfone group, PPSU filament has better chemical resistance. It is also resistant to high-energy radiation. This leads to a wide range of sterilization processes such as plasma, chemicals, radiation and heat for applications printed from PPSU filament.
A strong mechanical performance such as a very high impact resistance and a high stiffness complete the profile of the PPSU filament.
