Carbon fiber PEEK filament
Decades of experience in the extrusion of PEEK enable us to manufacture a PEEK filament with the highest filler volume of carbon fibres on the market: TECAFIL PEEK VX CF30 black - a 30% reinforced carbon fiber PEEK filament.
Reinforced PEEK grades and thus also carbon PEEK filament generally exhibit higher strength and stiffness than the unfilled variant. Compared to glass fiber reinforced PEEK, carbon PEEK filament has a significantly lower density. This makes CF PEEK filament a suitable material for leightweight applications. The carbon fibers also ensure a significantly higher thermal conductivity and low thermal expansion. Compared to unfilled PEEK, carbon PEEK filament shows outstanding technical properties in terms of the weight and stiffness ratio. Therefore it is often used as a metal substitute, especially as 3D printing PEEK filament, where it is used particularly frequently for prototypes and spare parts. It is not surprising, therefore, that PEEK filled with carbon fiber is widely used in many of the most critical areas of general industry, as well as in the automotive, aerospace, electronics and drilling industries.
Compared to non-reinforced PEEK filament, carbon PEEK filament is easier to print, as the carbon fibre additive reduces warping of the material.
This CF PEEK filament is based on Victrex® PEEK. Carbon fiber reinforced Victrex PEEK has proven itself in numerous applications. Therefore it is used very often in various industries - either machined or injection moulded but also as 3D printed PEEK filament.
For the ones preferring Evonik PEEK we offer an equivalent material, TECAFIL PEEK EV CF30 black, with slightly different parameters.
VICTREX® PEEK is a registered trademark of Victrex plc.
