Ensinger has been known for processing high-performance plastics for many decades. The focus of all these processing techniques is to promote the use of engineering plastics in industry. This is why Ensinger's TECAFIL stands for a portfolio consisting of engineering and high temperature plastics filaments which were designed for demanding environments and applications.

For customers looking for the strongest 3D printer filaments we tried to create a balanced selection of materials with enhanced mechanical properties such as strength, stiffness, toughness or compressive strength.

The portfolio on strongest filaments includes:

  • PA6 GF30 filament
  • Unfilled PEEK filament
  • Carbon fiber PEEK filament
  • PEI filament
The above materials have high mechanical resistance properties in strength and stiffness, especially our nylon filament (TECAFIL PA6 GF30 black) and our carbon fiber PEEK filament (TECAFIL PEEK CF30 black).

Our PA filament is one of the strongest 3D filament in the sector of engineering plastics. With its high glass fiber volume of 30%, this material is one of the best nylon filaments in the market. These nylon 3D printer filament is available in 1.75mm and 2.85mm and can also be used on most of the desktop printers such as Ultimaker printer.

With one of the largest portfolio in PEEK filaments we're able to offer special filaments with exceptional high fiber volume and special customised modifications. Our strongest 3D printing material is a carbon PEEK filament reinforced by 30% fiber volume. Its mechanical properties include a compressive strength over 40 MPa, an impact strength over 120 MPa and a ball impression hardness over 350 MPa. In addition to PEEK, we manufacture the PEKK filament TECAFIL PEKK natural - another strong filament out of the Polyaryletherketone (PAEK filament) family.

Especially for applications in aerospace and transportation PEI filament offers a lot of benefits for interior and exterior. This UltemTM filament based on Sabic raw material is characterised by an impact strength over 120 MPa. Due to the flame resistance PEI 3D printing is frequently used for a lot of parts in this sector.

Based on PVDF, PPSU, PEEK, PEKK, PEI, PSU, PES, PSU, POM and PA, the TECAFIL portfolio is designed to provide new solutions in additive manufacturing and some of the strongest filaments for 3D printing.

Note: The mechanical properties are strongly influenced by the printing setup and parameters. Therefore all mechanical properties tests have been tested and are based on injection moulded samples.
